Volunteer Information

Volunteer Requirement

Each family that has a student in the elementary classroom is required to volunteer in the classroom once per month (Sept.- May), for a full school day.  Volunteer arrangements outside of this are possible but must be approved and agreed upon by the Volunteer Coordinator.  If a family is not able to fulfill the volunteer requirement, a fee of $450 yearly, or $50 for each month will be assessed. Volunteer Fees should be paid monthly with tuition payment; unpaid Volunteer Fees will be totaled & assessed at the end of each semester.

Please note that families that only have preschool student are not required to volunteer, but should preschool families choose to volunteer, a background check must have been completed and passed. 

 

Background Checks

All volunteers (and staff) are required to complete a background check every 3 years. TBFS utilizes CompuFact for this service.  A link to the volunteer application will be sent to all families and volunteers must complete the

Volunteer Application Form (see link above). 

 

Volunteer Expectations & Duties

• Utilize Sign up Genius for volunteer days (see link above)

• Minimal cell phone usage (please silence cell phones)

• Sign in and out for tracking volunteer hours

• Maintain appropriate interactions with students and staff

• Display and encourage Christian values in students

• Be prepared to enforce classroom rules and maintain order in classroom

• Arrive promptly, sign in and be prepared to help with morning work

• Monitor students working independently and assist with questions

• Help monitor recess and lunch breaks, reinforce safe and appropriate activities

• Work to tidy classroom and restrooms (sweep, restock supplies, empty wastebaskets, etc) at appropriate times
